No 12 Carn Euny

Carn Euny is situated in West Penwith, near Land’s End in Cornwall. It is described by English Heritage as, ‘among the best preserved ancient villages in the South West’. There are only 50 ‘courtyard settlements’ in England. The site was occupied from the Iron Age until late Roman times and is now managed by the Cornwall Heritage Trust. I spent four days here in strong weather, drawing this extraordinary interconnected village and landscape, with views of the horizon.

Did the artists Roger Hilton, Terry Frost and Paul Feiler come to this spot, and respond to it, as they all lived within 5 miles away?
